Corporate Social Responsibility

Birchman has a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and it exists at the core of our business; we practice CSR as an organisation and we consult to clients in a number of industries.

By working in conjunction with several universities with a reputation in this space, Birchman has developed methodologies and tools to support work on CSR.

We have developed a four dimensional CSR Framework that we apply with our clients through consulting engagements, and practice within our organisation.

CSR Framework

Corporate Governance and Ethics

At Birchman we practice what we preach by including business ethics high on our values list and as part of our in-house management training courses.

People

Birchman endeavours to treat people as assets to be nurtured and helped to grow, rather than costs that need to be managed and reduced. Birchman actively supports our people through a focus upon leading edge human resource strategies.

Contribution to Development

Birchman has a number of active initiatives where we support the local communities by providing pro-bono charitable work and cash donations to selected not for profit organisations. Because we are a global people-based business we tend to support charitable organisations that engage with indigenous people.

Environment

Birchman has a relatively small environmental impact and we work to keeping it that way by imposing measureable ways to reduce paper usage and compensating our emissions by, for example, committing to plant a tree for every person that attends a Birchman conference.
